They didn’t believe me when i said - i’m too ill to get out of this bed - say they saw me playing in the field - as if it’s some kinda fey power i wield -Put a fire under me, watch me burn - was the only way for them to learn - well, that scared me half to death - so i got outta bed n i left -

Those folks arrived home to a dreadful sight - took me burning turf to put things to rights - was screech an a bang n an awful cry - what seemed a dead child began to fly - As it rose it looked me in the eye - I knew it was just a matter of time - rabbits foot, heather in a bag - touching wood, counting black cats -

Time passed and I thought i was cool - but of course i behaved like a fool - fell asleep at dusk, under a tree - woke up sick there damn sore in need - I took to my bed and there i did stay - till the fey took my choices away - I could see there was no return - it was dead of the fever or dead getting burned -
